Masters & Co Ltd work closely with a range of mainly Cambridgeshire based potato farmers to source the best potatoes in the country.

We also grow and supply our own potatoes. We strive for the best quality produce with very competitive prices. We have 90 years of knowledge maintaining strong relationships with our growers throughout the season to ensure quality from seed to plate.

From Seed to Plate

We fully validate all of our suppliers so that we can be sure that the produce they grow and provide is of the best quality and at Masters and Co Ltd we are hugely proud of the relationships we hold with our growers. Being part of the Assured Food Standards Agency means that we can continue to produce quality potatoes that in turn supports British agriculture. Seeding
After every harvest a selection of our best potatoes are kept aside to prepare as seed for the next years crop. This is alongside sourcing high quality seed from Holland. This reduces wastage and to ensure sustainability.
-8 to -6 Months
Growing
The rich soil within our farm and the farms of our carefully selected potato farmers is the perfect growing environment. Over the months our potatoes grow and are regularly checked for quality
-4 Weeks
Spraying
In order to produce a high quality potatoes for our customers and in turn their customers, the crops are treated against against diseases. They are sprayed off prior to lifting to ensure to stop further growth in the potatoes.

Lifting
When it is deemed that the potatoes are ready to be harvested, they are lifted from the ground using our state of the art machinery so that we don’t damage our produce. Once harvested, all of the potatoes are stored in strict temperature controlled environments.

Grading
Once the potatoes are lifted they are put through our series of conveyors and sorted by a combination of humans and machinery.

Storage and Bagging
Once the potatoes are sorted, some are put into storage so that we can provide our customers throughout the year. The potatoes which are going to be delivered straight away are bagged using our state of the art robots and then loaded onto a lorry

Transported to London
First thing in the morning the fresh potatoes are brought to Billingsgate Market in London where they are sorted into orders along with other sundries, catering supplies, condiments and beverages. From here, the orders are loaded onto our delivery fleet.

Delivery
Our friendly drivers set off and deliver our customer orders into the kitchens around London, the South and South East

Fresh, high quality potatoes are chipped by our customers and served to the hungry public at lunch time.
