Masters and co have been operating for over 9 decades as a potato supplier and through that time we have helped our customers serve thousands of meals to their own happy customers. We travel all over London and the South East to deliver potatoes and sundries so we have a hugely established customer base who rely on us every day to ensure they are serving the best produce available. In addition, we are a Drywites stockist so our customers also benefit from having access to a huge range of sundries and catering equipment delivered to their kitchen with their potatoes.

What are the different varieties of potatoes

Early Season: June – September

Amora = Yellow fleshed variety
Maris Bard = White fleshed variety
Premiere = Yellow fleshed variety
Accord = Creamy fleshed variety

Main Season: September – June

plus other up and coming chipping varieties

How should I store my potatoes?

In a cool, dry, insulated storage room at between 8 – 15°c.

The storage temperature can affect the fry.

How long will my potatoes store in bags?

Early season potatoes are generally only kept on a weekly basis depending on the sample.

Main season potatoes can last approximately 2 – 4 weeks in bags.

When should I use Drywite powder?

Drywite powder is a preservative product which prevents discolouration in fresh cut chips and peeled potatoes. Chips can be kept fresh for up to 48 hours, reducing wastage.

Do potatoes come out of the ground all year?

Early season potatoes are lifted straight from the fields and graded into bags.

Main season potatoes are harvested September to October. Some are graded into bags and others are put into storage boxes to dry out. These are stored and used from September to July.

Do Masters & Co Ltd grow their own potatoes?

Masters & Co Ltd grow their own potatoes as well as sourcing from established farms in the Fens.
